about

My 14th mixtape ever ...

The unreleased Double K and KRS-One songs are just typical AC The PD mixtape exclusive flavors that make all volumes eternal collectors items ... I made this mix with the poppers, lockers and breakers in mind ... Builds up in intensity all the way through ... Enjoy the narrative playlist!

released March 30, 2023

1. Double K – The Funk Is … (exclusive solo)
Double K is the king of LA HipHop, in my opinion! Along with King Tee of course!
2. KRS-One – Keep Movin’
In rare post-1997, true BDP-quality fashion … The only good song I could find on a rare unreleased version of the Kristyles CD that I found one day when I was workin’ with him … Sad true story, he told me, “A.C., I don’t care about HipHop music anymore.” … The music industry breaks down even the greatest souls … I asked him, “Can’t you see that the music you made between 86 and 96 is what makes you so great?”. And he disagreed. Weird, wild stuff!
3. Agallah & Sean Price – Lenny and Spitty Go Off
The great 2Mex used to let me burn my mixtape CD’s at his house … He let me borrow a mixtape he got from Europe on tour, and it had this, plus another legendary moment from Ag and Sean P that I had to put in this mix … How come Agallah ain’t doin’ music like this no more? Jus Allah could have used beats like this on his Agallah produced album!
4. Mad Lion – Teaser
BDP shit! BDP 4 life! Fresh for 2005, you suckers! Kings of HipHop reggae!
5. Scarface – The Pimp
My favorite joint from this album, and shamefully slept-on by the sucker Dj’s … The most funky!
6. Masta Ace – Can I Get A Dollar?
He said he completely threw out the concept of this song after Common Sense dropped the “Can I Borrow A Dollar?” album … Here you have it, for people like me who like Masta Ace way more than Common …
7. Kool G Rap & Nas – Fast Life (VR RMX)
Neither one of these dudes has been on this level in years! WTF happens to their ears for beats?!
8. Lord Finesse – Future Flavors freestyle
One of the best ever, being, well, himself! … Jazmac left this tape in my car one day, so I kept it till I put this in the mix … Thanks Dre!
9. Killarmy – Feel It
The only joint I really liked from this album … beautiful and funny … “… I know I looked funny with big lips, but that’s the love she had for her son the 9thPrince! …” …. LOL!
10. MC Lyte – Kamikaze
Where in the world is THIS Lyte? Really crazy, stupid, fresh, fly, vintage, raw Lyte! And you sucker Dj’s let this great shit collect dust while you spin mad stale sh-t? Thank you!
11. Homeliss Derelix – Spark It Up
My main man Reallife aka Sadi hooked me up with this and the other HD’s joint on this mix. Thanks! … Interesting how one out of every six or so HD joints are classic AC The PD mixtape greatness!~
12. Agallah and Sean Price – Ruck and Ag
The other joint from 2Mex’s rare mixtape … Raw, fresh, brand new, heavy heavy super-funk!
13. Souls Of Mischief – A Name I Call Myself
My favorite song from the 93 Till Infinity LP … I Told A-Plus, I’ve always wanted to put this on a mixtape, so here I use it to kick off a medley of my favorite non-single Heiro tracks that you sucker Dj’s never play!
14. Casual and Del – A Little Something
When I made this mixtape, I though Del was still in his prime. But he soon lost his touch and started makin WTF sh-t like the rest of the Heiro crew … I don’t get it!
15. Souls Of Mischief – Limitations
I wish they still had ‘IT’ like this! … And the OC album they put out this around the year of this mix was not right either … Somebody please get these dudes back on track!
16. Charizma – Talk About A Girl
So happy to finally put this in a mix! … Play this joint at a lot of gigs, and suckers still sleep … Had to flip doubles a little on this one, the right way … Short and sweet joint … One of the things I dislike most about the majority of people who think they know, love and live HipHop today is, they forgot HipHop is dance music! Dance bitch! On this song here, I heat it up for the break dancers! #16 thru #24 on this mix is dedicated to my LA Breakers fam!
17. Homeliss Derelix – All I Know (Bitches and Hoes)
Extraordinarily fly, fresh, brand new funk! … Stones Throw has ignored AC The PD for way too long, but if they had accepted my offer to A&R for their label, they would have much more of this, instead of that wack boom-clap Dilla-biter sh-t! … Like really dudes, can I finally get on your mailing list or what? lol
18. Double XX Posse – Pure Thing
This year I was broke, but I finally have gained access to the equipment I need to record and master my own mixes now … So, I can finally put these old slept-on, forgotten, left-out, overlooked, neglected funky fresh selections in the mix … Joint after joint is relief!
19. Positive K – One To The Head
This is one my the craziest joint on this mixtape! All of the bboy&bgirl jams I go to, the Dj’s ain’t playing sh-t like this! ZZZZZZZZ!!!!!
20. Beastie Boys – Sounds Of Science
From of the greatest HipHop albums ever, Pauls Boutique! More for the break dancers, bboys and bgirls who only want fast music to dance to … suckers! Respect to the bboys and bgirls who dance to fresh brand new heavy heavy super-funk, fast or slow, new or old! IT is what IT is!
21. Tim Dog – Bronx Nigga RMX
One LA rapper was mad at my mixes cuz I throw Tim Dog in the mix, so I told him “Maybe one day you will make music as good as the Tim Dog songs on my mixes and I’ll put you in the mix” … He wanted to fight, till somebody told him who the f-ck I am! Oops! Slippin!
22. 2 For 5 – Twelve Hundred Ways
My favorite joint from their lackluster LP … and the beginning of my little dedication to the turntablist … Peace to the Real Dj’s who have turntablism on lock, break records and don’t play just singles … There are very few of them!
23. Porn Theatre Ushers – Golden Shower Of Hits
Mister Jason is the man! … If you ain’t knowin’, catch up to the funk, cuz you’re late!
24. Terminator X – The Big Getback
One of the funkiest little intro/interludes ever! … It feels great to finally put this in the mixtape!
25. People Under The Stairs – Rattlesnake
I had doubles, but I gave Double K one of mine cuz he didn’t have it … Sometimes I find sh-t on wax that the recording artist themselves don’t even have …
26. Dr.oop f/Kankick – The Finer Things
Dr.oop is great for any producer who has the talent for making classic, timeless songs like this! A flunky Dj, who may or may not have been fresh once upon a time (I never heard him play a set of fresh HipHop in my life, but people treat him like a star), put this on a mixtape just before I made this mixtape, but his mixtape was wack and did not do this joint justice. So, I had to bring it back on a mix that is worth remembering …
