about

1. The Return
AC: The first song always sets the tone ... Jess The Facts welcome home! Shoutout to Back1 for all the dope samples you contributed to this album ...
JTF: Daddy told you that he’d be right back.

2. 4 Years
AC: "... It's time to rejoice! ..." ... Before Jess went AWAY this song, Freedom part 1 and This Is Me did not have drums yet ... They were coming home gifts for him ...
JTF: Didn’t know if this was the last song I would ever write. Thank God it wasn’t.

3. Freedom part 1 - Co-produced by Blue Buttonz
AC: Jess asked if we could sample Richie Havens at Woodstock, so we did ... El Chop drum and bass on this one made it a co-production ... Proud to have Blue Buttonz on this LP with us!
JTF: Blue Buttonz is one of the best producers on planet Earth period. Be on the lookout for the 2nd Jess The Facts & Blue Buttonz full-length LP "Memoirs of a Fighter (Poetic Science)" coming in 2020!

4. The Real Dr. Octopus
AC: No sample, we created this loop, and played it this way ... Definitely a favorite joint on the album ...
JTF: Mild mannered alter-ego Jess The Facts is the real Dr. Octopus. IF A.C. THE P.D. IS NOT IN YOUR TOP 10 HIPHOP PRODUCERS/D.J.'S OF ALL-TIME, YOU'RE SLEEPING ON MY MAN.

5. Average Americans
AC: We are all our own little products, imitations and reflections of this sick society we grew up in ... Some are more sick than others, some are less sick than most ... Only the strong make it thru life with their soul intact ... Cuz when you lose it, it ain't comin back!
JTF: This song is meant to inspire change.

6. Human Shade Trees - Produced by Jon Deliz
AC: An original #HipHopPhilosophy family slang word turned into a song ... If the shoe fits, you gotta put it on! ... When most current greats treat us like competition, constantly finding and shedding light on their work stays our mission ... Like this song for example see, we introduce Jon Deliz to the family ...
JTF: SHADY PEOPLE ... You know who you are.. Be positive.

7. Eminem Is A Gimmick
AC: Till you met Dre, you had potential and soul ... Then, he became your pimp and you became his main hoe ...
JTF: I don’t like being compared to Eminem, I’m a different breed of Emcee. My goal is similar to a young KRS, “edutainment”. I’ve never been impressed by shock-rap.

8. This Is Me
AC: All of these songs have finished production, with original elements added to compliment (never take away from) the original sounds ... no lazy, unfinished, biter-style sampling style production without adding any original elements ... We don't celebrate those trendy toy styles ... Jess did co-production on a few of these joints, like this one. A few just needed the additional percussion rhythm sections to put the Hop to the Hip aka complete the production ...
JTF: This is Me! I'm truly thankful for all of my real friends that can accept me for me.

9. HipHop Yoga 101 - Produced by Mike B
AC: Thanks Mike B for letting us rock your beat ... We did a little chopping to make it into a song, added scratches, mixed and engineered the joint ... Great teamwork bros! From DENMARK TO LA to Chicago.
JTF: Yoga is such an important part of my existence.

10. One Minute Is All I Need
AC: Once again, we add the needed original elements, to take sampling from the level of biting to a level of artistic dignity and integrity ... So all you newjack half-a-beat so-called producers, take notes! ...
JTF: That bassline though!

11: MAGA, Please! (Like Before Unkle Skam)
AC: IMO - America was great before Unkkkle Skkkam, but since Unkkkle Skkkam arrived, Amerikkka = Self-Destruction ...
JTF: America is one of my favorite bands of all time & America is one of my favorite countries. America is being thrust into the future without looking back to the REVOLUTIONARY foundation it was built on.

12. Count Factula
AC: This is exactly how I imagined this beat, if Jess ever got his ears on it ... For those people who like to say we just do boom-bap styles, this is for you. A great example of our unpredictable versatility ... Many Styles like Audio Two!
JTF: Happy Halloween!

13. Lobotomy Lyrics
AC: Oh yeah! Late in the album, the bboys & bgirls run this MF! More adding of original elements to the sample production styling for all you corner-cutting, way-ahead-of-yourself, newjack hustler, rap-on-half-a-beat (*or less) loving clones!
JTF: Must I be clinically insane to be critically acclaimed? LIKE JOAQUIN PHOENIX!

14. Don't Drop The Soapdish (Like That - Part 2)
AC: Shoutout to Herbs1 for the DOC sample scratch idea, even tho we used it on this joint instead of that other one haha ... LA Breakers Music! Fresh for 2020 you suckers!
JTF: You already know!

15. Majesstic
AC: Sending this one out to my North City Rockers family! Bass in your face!
JTF: I AM THE MAN WHO put the Jess in Majesstic!

16. Live At Hawthorne Hophouse Portland (Original recording by Chris Vanacore)
AC: Recorded when Jess was in Portland without me, he brought the original mix to me and asked if I could add drums and save it ... so the cut, scratch style percussion was added, and magic happened ... Another personal favorite on the LP ...
JTF: Thanks to Chris Vanacore & the 3 owners of the Hawthorne Hophouse in Portland Oregon, honestly the HIPPEST bar ever. GOOGLE IT HOMIE!

17. Open Mic Night At Debonair Social Club Chicago
AC: The last song we added drums to before the album was done. When developing beautiful babybeats, after we potty train them, and raise into full grown mature compositions, we become one with the funk. We do this like Buddhists!
JTF: One of my favorite venues in Chicago.

18. Eye Can See Sound
AC: Yes, Jess can see sound and makes it happen ... I am most lucky to be his DJ and make solid albums for the most distinguished executive-class ears in the world ...
JTF: Jazz is my heart & spoken word is THE SONG OF my soul. I will release a NEW book of my poetry in 2020.

19. Freedom - Part 2
AC: A Mom's Crates Backbreaks masterpiece ...
JTF: THANK YOU FOR TAKING TIME TO LISTEN. Dont take freedom for granted MY FRIENDS. Make today count, may God bless you & your family, peace love & respect.
